Full Tilt Poker

Full Tilt Poker (FTP) is one of the top online poker rooms. With plenty of action, high quality graphics, nice sign up bonuses, etc., FTP has a lot to offer. Many of the top poker pros are part of Team Full Tilt, and can be seen regularly at the tables.

FTP pros include Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson, Allen Cunningham, Phil Ivey, John Juanda, Mike Matusow, Clonie Gowen, Jennifer Harman and Erik Seidel. This is a list of some of the best players in the world today. Many of these players can be found at FTP on a fairly regular basis, battling away at the tables.

During peak hours, well over 10,000 players will be at the cash game tables. The tournament number will swell to over 70,000. This means you won’t have trouble finding a game to play.

If you are a high stakes player, then this is the site for you. FTP was one of the first online poker rooms to offer extremely high stakes games. You can see the likes of Phil Ivey, John Juanda and Patrik Antonius sitting at the $2,000/$4,000 limit Omaha H/L game. You are welcome to join them. Good luck if you do!

Here’s a great example of this type of action. I just opened up the lobby and find Eli Elizre, Mike Matusow, and Robert Mizrachi, playing in a $300/$600 limit Omaha H/L game. So, if I want, I can watch and study these great players in action.

One very cool part of FTP graphics is their final table. Whenever you reach the final table of a multi table event, the final table has a different look than the other tables. It is a cool blue, very distinctive, and reminds you of where you are and what you have done.

If there is any weakness to the functionality of the site, it is that it seems to require a lot of your computer to run efficiently. This can lead to lagging, or freezing your computer. They aren’t the only poker room with this issue, but some are much better in this area.

Another mild complaint you can find with FTP is that their rake is a bit higher than the industry average. It isn’t extreme, but if you play lots of poker it will add up.

The game is fairly fast at FTP. This can be good or bad, depending on your perspective. You have, in my opinion, less time to make decisions than in some of the other poker rooms. The positive side of this is that in the same amount of time. You will be getting more hands played. The negative side is that when you have tough decisions to make, you have less time to make them.

FTP is still accepting US players. Many sites left the US market in 2006 after the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act was passed by the US congress. FTP along with a handful of other sites felt that this law does not make what they are doing illegal. Some other sites, most notably Party Poker, left the US market, out of fear of the impact of this new law.

Full Tilt Poker is one of the big online poker rooms in this huge industry. This is a great room to challenge your poker skills. If you like multi table tournaments, fight to get to those blue tables!
